ChArMEx campaign is an European integrated measurement campaign to study pollution transport in Europe. A 72 hours continuous measurements EARLINET exercise was organized in the frame of ChArMEx, from July 9, 06:00 UT, up to July 12, 05:59 UT. The 72 hourly profiles from Bucharest lidar station were fed into the EARLINET's Single Calculus Chain, which was used to obtain in an automatic and homogeneous way optical profiles for all participating stations.

ACTRIS-EMEP 2012

Grimsvötn eruption 2011

Thumbnail

After Eyja.... in 2010, another (smaller) Icelandic volcano errupted in 2011. Europe was not signifficantly affected this time. Nevertheless, our lidar was measuring. If not for aviation safety purposes, for scientific anyhow.

Eyjafjallajökull eruption 2010

Thumbnail

An intensive measurement campaign with the multiwavelegth Raman lidar was performed at Bucharest lidar station during the Eyjafjallajökull eruption in 2010, simultaneous with other EARLINET stations. Volcanic ash was present over Romania from April 17 until May 11, but higher concentrations (up to 100 micrograms per cubic meters) were measured on April 18 and 21, at an altitude range of 2 - 5 km.

EARLI09

Our multiwavelength Raman lidar RALI was participating to the EARLINET intercomparison campaign, Leipzig, May 2009. During the campaign, a complex procedure was developed and tested on the datasets submitted by each group involved in EARLI09. Our lidar system has passed the test for a threshold of 10% deviation from the reference signal, for all channels.
